1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using UniBrain ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

2. Eligibility

UniBrain is designed for students enrolled at Australian universities. By signing up, you represent that:

• You are at least 16 years of age
• You are a current or prospective university student
• The information you provide is accurate and complete

3. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You must not share your account with others or use another person's account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to cheat on assignments, exams, or assessments
• Submit AI-generated content as your own work without proper attribution
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or exploit the Service
• Upload malicious files or content
• Violate your university's academic integrity policies
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

5. AI-Generated Content

UniBrain provides AI-powered study assistance. You acknowledge that:

• AI responses may contain inaccuracies and should be verified against course materials
• The Service is a study aid, not a substitute for learning
• You are responsible for how you use AI-generated information
• Submitting AI-generated work as your own may violate your university's academic policies

6. Canvas LMS Integration

When you connect your Canvas account, you grant UniBrain read-only access to your course data via your personal API token. We store your token in encrypted form and use it solely to import your courses, assignments, and files. You may revoke access at any time by disconnecting in Settings or regenerating your Canvas API token.

7. Intellectual Property

The UniBrain platform, its design, and its original content are owned by UniBrain. Your uploaded documents and chat content remain your property. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to process it for the purpose of providing the Service.

8. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform scheduled maintenance and will endeavor to provide advance notice. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service downtime.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, UniBrain is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
